Planning Administrator

Up to £23,500 per annum

  • Location: Head Office based at Lenwade, Norwich, NR9 5LY
  • 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday, 36.5 hours a week
  • Pay: Up to £23,500 per annum, depending on experience

Main Purpose of Role


To assist the operational departments with their daily activities. The Planning Administrator will accept responsibility for preparation, submission and the monitoring of applications to Third Parties whilst keeping our customers up to date throughout the process. Primarily dealing with Planning Permission applications for our Windows and Conservatory Division.


  • Working closely with our Head of Planning Approvals and CAD department
  • Providing accurate submissions to Third Parties, as such local authority councils
  • Maintaining regular customer communications and updates
  • Developing and continually improving inhouse templates
  • Supporting other areas of the business when required
  • Conducting own investigations into legislative restrictions preventing works
  • Monitoring incoming communications
  • Full Training given

  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Basic IT skills/ ability to learn basic data base input processes
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Positive open attitude and professional manner

Desirable/ Competent

  • Product knowledge
  • Experience working independently and, in a team environment
  • Experience and knowledge of third-party legislation and regulations
  • Experience within the Home Improvement Industry

Essential Knowledge & Skill

  • Experience working in the home improvement industry or with planning applications
  • Comfortable at using basic IT related packages for input (Microsoft Word & Excel)
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Well organised and able to communicate effectively
  • Someone comfortable to work in a small team but able to work by themselves on their own allocated work
  • Someone who would describe themselves as a “finisher completer”, but able to ask for help when required
